Common Issues
Solutions to the most frequently reported Ringo issues.
Notes not generating
If a recording ends but no note is generated after a few minutes:
- Check your internet connection — note generation requires an active connection.
- Open the note manually from the Notes list — it may still be processing.
- Click Generate (or ··· → Regenerate) to trigger generation manually.

Calendar not syncing
- Go to Settings → Calendar and click Refresh.
- If meetings still don't appear, disconnect and reconnect your Google account.
- Check that the correct calendars are selected under Settings → Calendar → Calendars.
Ringo won't open after macOS update
macOS security updates occasionally require re-approving permissions.
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Look for Ringo under Microphone and confirm it's allowed.
- If there's a blocked app warning, click Open Anyway.
Reinstalling Ringo
- Quit Ringo completely (right-click menu bar icon → Quit).
- Move Ringo from Applications to Trash.
- Download the latest version from ringoai.app and reinstall.
Your data is stored in the cloud — reinstalling won't delete your notes.
