Common Issues

Solutions to the most frequently reported Ringo issues.

Notes not generating

If a recording ends but no note is generated after a few minutes:

  1. Check your internet connection — note generation requires an active connection.
  2. Open the note manually from the Notes list — it may still be processing.
  3. Click Generate (or ···Regenerate) to trigger generation manually.

Calendar not syncing

  1. Go to Settings → Calendar and click Refresh.
  2. If meetings still don't appear, disconnect and reconnect your Google account.
  3. Check that the correct calendars are selected under Settings → Calendar → Calendars.

Ringo won't open after macOS update

macOS security updates occasionally require re-approving permissions.

  1. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  2. Look for Ringo under Microphone and confirm it's allowed.
  3. If there's a blocked app warning, click Open Anyway.

Reinstalling Ringo

  1. Quit Ringo completely (right-click menu bar icon → Quit).
  2. Move Ringo from Applications to Trash.
  3. Download the latest version from ringoai.app and reinstall.

Your data is stored in the cloud — reinstalling won't delete your notes.
