Ringo
Taking Notes

Notifications

How Ringo alerts you when a meeting is detected and when AI-generated content is ready.

Ringo uses two types of notifications: a floating popup when a meeting is detected, and system notifications for AI-generated content.

Meeting detected popup

When Ringo detects that another app is using your microphone, a small floating window appears in the corner of your screen.

  • Shows the name of the app that triggered detection (e.g. Zoom, Teams, Google Meet)
  • Click Take Notes to start recording immediately
  • Dismiss it if you don't want to record that session

If the detected call starts within 15 minutes of a scheduled calendar event, the popup shows the event name.

System notifications

Ringo sends a system notification when AI-generated content is ready:

  • Meeting Briefing Ready — a pre-meeting briefing has been prepared before your next event
  • Weekly Digest Ready — your weekly summary is ready to review
  • Follow-up Detected — a follow-up task or action item was identified from a recent meeting

Click any notification to open Ringo and view the content.

If notifications aren't appearing

macOS controls notification permissions per app. If Ringo notifications aren't showing:

  1. Open System Settings → Notifications
  2. Find Ringo in the list
  3. Enable Allow Notifications
